We'll practice land navigation and build a snow kitchen. After the bus drops us off Friday afternoon, we'll snowshoe in about a mile to our campsite. Here we'll set up camp and we'll build a snow kitchen. We'll also build a snow potty and pack out all solid human waste. Friday night after dinner we will go on a warming evening hike. Saturday we will learn to build emergency snow shelters. Saturday night we'll have dinner in our snow kitchen. On Sunday, after a leisurely breakfast, we'll break camp, destroy our snow creations, and practice map reading before returning to the bus.
